I have lived to experience the most important aspect of the Atonement for me while I am still in mortality—personal revelation, personal communion with the Lord Jesus Christ, through His light and through the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost’s greatest gift to me is “the words of Christ.” (2 Nephi 32:3.)
By the power of His everlasting word, I am counseled, comforted.
His is the most powerful voice on my “committee,” even though it is the meekest and the mildest. That train or channel of thought that comes from Him represents His Atonement in affect already in my life.
Thus, I have a portion already of what I will someday enjoy a fullness of–open communion with my Beloved Jesus. He saves me by the power of His word just as continuously as I am willing to hear His words and heed them.
